“The avid Space Empires audience pushed us to expand from the PC to Facebook. We have been extremely pleased by the response to the new social network version of the game both in terms of excellent reviews and the exceptional take up of the game by the Facebook community. Accordingly we are expanding to the I-Phone and the I-Pad platforms which will allow us to make the game available to these popular and growing social game audiences”, said Strategy First’s President Emanuel Wall

Space Empires originally released in 1993 for the PC, featured five installments and one sister title. The social version of Space Empires recently debuted on Facebook and is considered the top sci-fi social game on the platform.

Matt Abrams, Chief Executive Officer of Nvinium said “We are excited to bring Strategy First’s critically acclaimed franchise to a wider social gaming audience. This move to the ‘I-Phone’ and the ‘I-Pad’ is the next step in bridging the gap between traditional and social gamers

Space Empires Battle for Supremacy for the I-Phone and the I-Pad is expected to lauch in early 2011.

Looking at that press release, I kept thinking that the ‘I-Phone’ and ‘I-Pad’ are some kind of cheap knock-off’s, but I’m sure they really mean the iPhone and iPad.
